Say Hello to Chris and Oliver!

We are very excited to welcome our two newest team members to JP Marketing! Meet Chris Estep and Oliver Greenbarg. Chris joined our team as a social media manager where he manages social media on a daily basis, crafts engaging copy, and delivers greater SEO results for our clients. It’s no wonder Chris can easily develop great content – he has a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in English Literature!

Oliver joined our creative team as a graphic designer. Oliver is focused on designing a product that is both meaningful and effective, and brings a fresh approach to graphic design that stems from his love of art. Oliver earned his B.A. in Fine Arts with a minor in Graphic Design from Fresno State.

We wanted to get to know both Chris and Oliver better, so we asked them some interesting questions and here is what they had to say.

Before working at JP, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?

Chris: I edited some voice audio recordings that were in Arabic. I don’t speak Arabic, but had to follow the scripts and some basic directions to rearrange parts and do a few line edits. It came out great!

Oliver: I used to be a graphic designer for the Student Involvement Center at Fresno State and we got a lot of poster projects where we usually had a lot of creative freedom. The office that I and the other designer worked in was separate from all of the other Student Involvement offices as we were on the very bottom floor in a room which we dubbed “The Fish Tank.” The full front window allowed everyone walking by to stare at us while we worked.

Aside from necessities, what is one thing you could not go a day without?

Chris: My iPhone. I truly feel lost without it.

Oliver: I always need time to spend with my family even on my busiest of days. It reminds me what matters more than anything else in the world.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

Chris: Bridging clients and customers together through social media and watching those relationships build.

Oliver: I am excited to get in on the concept/brainstorming process for new projects. In previous jobs, the times I have been involved in brainstorming was the most motivational. It would be hard to stop working once I really got in the zone.

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island and why?

Chris: My iPhone, obviously, providing I somehow still had data service and could play Clash of Clans. I’d take a guitar, so I could write songs about the island. And I’d take my paddle board so I could paddle around the island.

Oliver: Insulin, because I am not sure how long I would last without it. My guitar, because that would provide both unlimited music and a creative outlet (at least until the strings break). A long book, probably East of Eden by John Steinbeck, because what better environment to read than a deserted island?

If you were a ruler of your own country what would be the first law you would introduce?

Chris: I’d ensure that the arts would be part of every child’s education from the very beginning.

Oliver: I would enforce the creation and maintenance of protected bike lanes on all major streets.

What super power would you like to have?

Chris: I’d love to be able to fly. I am fascinated by drone videos and even the satellite view in Google maps. There’s something peaceful and relaxing about getting out of, and getting above, the day-to-day world on the ground to see it from that bird’s-eye perspective. If I could do that, at will, I’d spend a lot of time in the air.

Oliver: I would choose telekinesis because of its potential in any kind of situation. Think about it: instead of sitting in traffic, you could just move cars out of your way!
