Four new additions to creative & account teams

They’re a good looking bunch, aren’t they? Say hello to the newest additions to JP Marketing! On the creative side, we welcomed graphic designer Michael Romero and web developer Pablo Ruiz de Chavez. In our account department Sammy Norton joined as a media buyer/account assistant and Alexa Ude is an account intern.

We’ve already asked the interview questions that got them hired, now it’s time to dig a little deeper!

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

Alexa: I am looking forward to learning all about the account management side of a marketing firm. I have really enjoyed working with Jane so far, and it has been very informative. Also, sitting in on meetings has been very interesting and has been a great experience. I look forward to continuing to learn a lot from Jane.

Michael: Working on multiple client accounts, getting a variety of projects in both design and web development. JP has made me eager to expand my knowledge.

Pablo: Collaborating with an all-encompassing team of creatives – designers, illustrators, developers, copy writers.

Sammy: The opportunity to contribute to a company with such a strong, positive local reputation. And working with so many awesome people!

What’s your favorite cartoon character?

Alexa: PBS was my favorite channel as a kid, so I would probably say Arthur was one of my favorites. That show was the best.

Michael: Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist. Despite his small stature, he is keen on searching for the truth and to answer the questions he does not know the answer to. That’s where I connect with him the most, always looking to obtain more information.

Pablo: Sheldon James Plankton

Sammy: Tweety Bird!

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?

Alexa: You mean I could be like Claire, the cheerleader from Heroes, and never get hurt and die? That would be pretty cool. I don’t really like to do dangerous or really adventurous things though, so I guess I will say something cheesy like save the world

Michael: I probably wouldn’t change anything I would do in normal day. I would like to say I’d do something crazy, or try to do something good, but in all reality, if it was only for a day, I probably couldn’t get very far anywhere to make a big difference. I wouldn’t rob a bank, because they would catch me the next day, and by then my immortality would be gone. I wouldn’t jump off a building. Why? I’d be more interested in discovering something, like going beyond the normal pressure depths of the ocean with a high powered light, and trying to find a new species, or treasure. That sort of thing.

Pablo: Go into orbit and float in space.

Sammy: Go undercover in a CIA operation.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?

Alexa: I would like to see Jennifer Lawrence cast as me because she is a great actress. She may not look like me, but I know she could nail the role.

Michael: Chris Pratt orr Morgan Freeman

Pablo: George Clooney

Sammy: Mary Kate Olsen

What do you miss most about being a kid?

Alexa: I miss playing hide-and-seek outside with the neighborhood kids. I was lucky to have neighbors around the same age as me because we got along well and played games outside for hours.

Michael: Playing outside for hours at a time. Being carefree, and waiting for my mom to call me home when it started getting dark. Trying to wake up at an impossible 5 a.m. to see the best cartoons that the station would ONLY broadcast at that time (no DVRs).

Pablo: My innocence.

Sammy: When jelly shoes were in style! Gel pens were pretty awesome, too.

Before working at JP, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?

Alexa: When I was in high school, I used to work with first and second grade children and that was interesting because some kids say the funniest things, they really have no filter.

Michael: Working at Kohl’s I would often have the pleasure of assisting or working with some interesting characters. The best was when (someone would obviously was up to no good) came up to me directly, and pointed to another customer claiming he had seen them shoplifting, and to keep an eye on them. 10 minutes later, the guy was running out of the store with merchandise.

Pablo: Dressed up in costume and scared people every night during October for a haunted house in Fresno. That was lots of fun.

Sammy: I also am a Competition Dance Coach, and I farm French prune plums.

If you were a baseball player, what would be your walk-up song?

Alexa: My walk up song would be Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. Not that I have bad blood with the other team, but because I like the beat of the song and the words would hopefully intimidate the pitcher and throw him off his game so then I would be able to actually hit the ball.

Michael: I was a baseball player, but we never got to choose walkout music. Back then, I would have chosen The Crimson by Atreyu. Today, I would choose, Rise Against’s Architects.

Pablo: System of a Down Chop Suey!

Sammy: Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. I’d dance all the way to home plate.
