Everyday, I make it a point to have an attitude of gratitude. As cliché as that sounds, it couldn’t be truer. I’m thankful for the things I’ve learned, accomplished and especially for the experiences I’ve had. Everything I’ve done up to this point has prepared me for my next adventure as a member of the JP Marketing family.
I’m a firm believer in the quote, “life is what you make it.” My friends often say they just, “work for the weekend,” or are sick of the daily grind at work. I understand that everyone, especially in the PR/Marketing profession, has long weeks at work with tight deadlines, upset clients and the occasional Keurig breakdown. But I look forward to coming to work everyday, because I love what I do. Here are 5 reasons I’m thankful for my job.
Fun Co-Workers
“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing,” -Dale Carnegie.
Since I’ve only been here for a few months, I haven’t gotten to know all my co-workers on a deeper level, but we all work hard every day and enjoy daily laughs. The ability to work with people I can laugh and collaborate with makes my job much more enjoyable.
Awesome Bosses
“It’s not about you, it’s about them believing in you and trusting that you’re the right person to get them from A to B,” – Michael Zipursky.
Not everyone can say they have an awesome boss, but I’m thankful that I can. In the short time I’ve worked here, I’ve established a trusting relationship with my boss and I’m very grateful for the opportunity she gave me to work with her successful team. She’s placed a lot of responsibilities on me but reassures me that I have all the skills necessary to get the job done.
Creative Freedom
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do,” -Steve Jobs.
While creativity is encouraged in most agencies, few actually carve out time each week to give their team the opportunity to get their creative juices flowing. For each new client campaign, we brainstorm as a group and it’s amazing what ideas can come from these meetings.
Job Perks
“Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work,” -Aristotle.
Not to be confused with benefits (although I’m very grateful for those too!), some of the job perks we have are yummy staff lunches in our awesome kitchen, lots of snacks available and a Keurig with a variety of K-cup options! Also, since our office is dog-friendly, we can bring our furry friends to work with us. While this doesn’t seem major, very few jobs offer these perks, which makes me appreciate these little things even more.
A Paycheck

I’m incredibly thankful that I don’t wake up dreading going to work every day and I’m even more grateful that I get paid to do what I love. Knowing I work for a company that appreciates the work I do and supports me, keeps me motivated to work harder to move our company higher up the success ladder.
