Lennar Little Free Library Campaign Takes Home a PRSA Award

In May, we were honored with a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Award for our work with Lennar and its Little Free Libraries campaign.

If you haven’t heard of the PRSA, it is the nation’s largest public relations and communications community. It is dedicated to providing professional training, upholding ethics in the industry, and setting standards of excellence. Once a year, PRSA and its local chapters award outstanding public relations campaigns. We are so honored to have won a 2013 Image Award from the Central California Chapter for one of the nation’s leading and most respected homebuilders.

So what are Little Free Libraries? In 2009, the Little Free Library, Ltd non-profit organization was founded. The organization builds miniature libraries filled with books, free for anyone to borrow and return. The libraries are meant to promote literacy and the love of books, and build a sense of community.

littlefreelibrary1-464x390Lennar decided to join the Little Free Library movement and endowed 14 libraries throughout the Central Valley, beginning with the Ronald McDonald House at the Children’s Hospital of Central California, a home away from home for children being treated at the hospital and their families.

We helped Lennar put on events at each location to promote the libraries and reading throughout the Central Valley. Thirteen more are Little Free Libraries were donated to non-profits as well as Lennar communities, which not only shared the love of books with children and families, but also built a stronger sense of community within the various neighborhoods.

We are proud to represent Lennar, and were honored to help them with this amazing community outreach project. We look forward to being a part of many more life-changing campaigns in the future!
