In the words of the great Louis Armstrong: to jazz, or not to jazz, there is no question!
JazzFresno and KFSR 90.7 are bringing outdoor jazz festivals back to the Central Valley with the Valley Jazz Fest!
Our graphic designers wanted to give the inaugural outdoor event a unique look with a nod to the iconic era that jazz thrived in. In the late 20s and 30s, Art Deco was the international style of geometry, elegance and art that graced the covers of almost all advertisements.
Our design team thought it suitable to create a logo and poster design inspired by these iconic illustrations. The grain texture of the poster even mimics the stippling effect that was used by traditional airbrush artists of that era.
At ApCal on May 18, Valley Jazz Fest will open the doors at noon. At 1pm, the lineup of world-class musicians will take the stage!
Karen Marguth and Espacio – 1PM
The Experience – 2PM
Fillmore Slim – 3PM
The After Dinner Mints – 4PM
Blue Street Jazz Band – 5PM
Rumba 32 – 6PM
We hope to see you there browsing work from local artists, drinking wine from local wineries and snacking on treats from some of the valley’s best food trucks.
