Thursday Tell Alls!

It’s that time again; time to dive into the JP pool headfirst!

Each Thursday, we will be bringing you all the inside scoop from JP: from clients to vendors, account managers to graphic designers.

Jessica Madrigal is more than an Account Manager. She is also an avid runner, and can read your mind, or at least wishes she could.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
I’m the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college, earning a bachelors degree, so it was a proud moment for my parents and me.

What is the best thing you’ve ever eaten?
Something that my mom has made, but I can’t choose just one thing. Everything she makes is the best thing I’ve ever eaten!

What is your most embarrassing memory at work?
I haven’t had one that really stood out. When I was a server, I spilled wine on someone. It was embarrassing, but it’s bound to happen.

What is your best piece of advice?
Find something that you don’t enjoy doing,, or you aren’t good at, and work on that. Make it your goal to overcome it or try it out. You might find that you really enjoy it, or that you enjoy the challenge. That’s how I discovered my love for running.

What song would you choose to describe yourself?
Since I’m a child of the 80s, I’m gonna go with Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cindi Lauper.

What super power would you most like to have?
Being able to read people’s minds, I’d love to know what people are thinking.

Who or what inspires you the most?
People that stand up for what they believe in, and act on what they believe in. I have strong feelings about things but I don’t always act. I wish I could be more like them.

Why did you choose this profession?
In college, I took an MCJ elective; I liked it and wanted to learn more. Before I knew it, I had earned myself a degree. I like the idea of being able to help businesses grow and it makes me happy when things work for them.  When a client says, “Someone walked into the store with the ad from the paper,” or “We had great traffic this weekend,” that’s awesome!

What’s the best investment you’ve ever made?
My college education and a good pair of running shoes.

What book could you never tire of reading?
Why Men Love B******. It sounds like a total men-bashing book, but it’s not! It’s a good reminder of how to be your own person as a woman, how to be independent and to continue doing things that make you happy. It’s basically all of the advice my mom has given me over the years, written in a book.

Jessica was supposed to have a minute to draw a picture of herself, she took four. We leave you with this masterpiece, which Jessica claims, “It looks just like me! Except for maybe the lips.”
