Two New Faces on the JP PR Team

Public relations and social media marketing are growing at an amazing rate! To continue to provide the best experience for our clients, we’ve added two new team members. Katie Silva, an outreach assistant, and Kelly Aoki, an outreach intern, will be working with a wide range of JP clients on social media, PR and event planning.

If you haven’t met Katie and Kelly yet, we interviewed them so you can get to know them a little bit better!

What’s your favorite horror movie?

Katie: I seriously love ALL horror movies. It’s definitely my favorite genre of flicks. If I had to choose one I would say my current favorite would be The Conjuring.

Kelly: I’m constantly in search of the scariest movies. My favorite of all time has to be Insidious. Lights Out might be a close second, just for all of the times you jump!

Are you a good dancer?

Katie: If by good, you mean awkwardly moving my body about and having a blast with those around me, then yes, I’m an excellent dancer!

Kelly: I’d like to say I have a few talents that come naturally, but unfortunately for me – and anyone around me – dancing is not one of them. I’m a painfully bad dancer.

What’s been your favorite part of the job so far?

Katie: My favorite part is definitely the trust I am given to complete tasks to the best of my capability and with creative freedom. It’s so great being able to have a group that trusts me to not only complete tasks, but to do them well! Also, the fact that this team is so supportive and gives great praise and feedback makes it all just a million times better.

Kelly: Since being hired, there hasn’t been anything that I don’t like about JP Marketing. I really do love it all, but if I had to choose, I’d definitely say the company culture and the people that come along with it. JP focuses on strengths rather than weaknesses. It’s very apparent how passionate each and every one of the team members are about honing their skills and becoming experts in their fields.

Can you make us laugh?

Katie: What is a pirate’s favorite letter? He likes the R, but he’s in love with the C!

Kelly: If you say the words, “Raise. Up. Lights.” It sounds like you’re saying “razor blades” with an Australian accent.

Chunky or smooth peanut butter?

Katie: It really depends. If it’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, definitely smooth. If I’m having it with a banana then I’ll have chunky.

Kelly: I’d say 90% of the time I have smooth peanut butter. That’s only because it’s what’s already in my pantry. When it comes down to it, chunky or smooth, peanut butter is peanut butter, and peanut butter is delicious!

If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn?

Katie: Probably a musical instrument, like the violin or banjo!

Kelly: Without a doubt, I’d learn how to be a good dancer.
